Aniela Mieczysławska's and Andrzej Bobkowski's correspondence, publication by Więź, 2010
Listy 1951-1961. Andrzej Bobkowski, Aniela Mieczysławska (Warsaw: Więź, 2010). This volume has been partly based on the holdings of the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum. The correspondence of Aniela Mieczysławska Raczyńska and writer Andrzej Bobkowski (1913-1961) is an invaluable source of information on the cultural and literary life in Polish diaspora after World War II. Considered one of the most gifted Polish writers and essayists of the last century, Bobkowski spent the Second War World in France, collaborated with the Literary Institute and anti-communist émigré organization Independence and Democracy, and emigrated to Guatemala in 1948. He is mostly known for his wartime diaries Szkice piórkiem (Sketched with the Quill, 1957) which documented his escape from Paris to southern France in 1940 and life in occupied Paris, and contained his reflections on the fate of Europe subjected to the Nazi occupation and threatened by the Soviet civilization.
