In 2003 Gábor Klaniczay published a book that includes his essays and papers about oppositional culture. (Klaniczay, Gábor. Ellenkultúra a hetvenes-nyolcvanas években. Budapest: Noran, 2003.) In this book there are many writings which were published in the samizdat brochures ("Napló” and "Beszélő)” before 1989/1990. The genre of the texts is different: study, movie review, diary notes, etc. What actually conntects them together is their topic: the cultural critique of the 1970s and 1980s. According to the author "the participating observer, the anthropologist exploring symbols and the historian writing about the recent past speaks through these texts”.
